What is meant by PII disclosure?
PII stands for "personally identifiable information", which means information that can be used to identify a specific individual. "PII disclosure" refers to when such informationis disclosed or leaked in a way that may be harmful to the individual. It can include everything from name, address, phone number and social security number to more sensitive information such as health status, financial information or other personal details.
The "PII disclosure" vulnerability occurs when this sensitive information is exposed or shared unintentionally or without authorization, which can lead to identity theft, fraud, or other forms of abuse. But it doesn't have to be a big risk as the system usually marks this asa false positive. So that the tool mistakenly warns about this because it does not understand which data is important to you.
